Sensei Seth Winch of Cervizzi's Martial Arts Academy of Andover dojo congratulates his eight newest black belts!
Seven students from the Cervizzi's Martial Arts Academy of Andover and Sensei Seth Winch were among the 30+ students testing in a grueling 6 hour exam. The exam included demonstration of strength, knowledge of techniques, forms (kata), self defense concepts, history and the lineage which is passed down to our students. Prior to the test all candidates were required to submit essays detailing how the study of martial arts has helped them in their lives. This year's theme centered on Leadership learned in the quest for black belt detailing self knowledge, respect, self control and philosophy were common in each of their papers.
The hombu (headquarters) located in North Reading is where all the 2024 black belt candidates from 5 schools tested. Soke Paul Cervizzi (founder and head of the schools) and several internationally recognized Grand Masters were in attendance to certify the test and ranks. For the eight Andover residents this was the culmination of years of hard work, consistent study, and class work.

Sensei Seth Winch (Haverhill) also tested and earned his Godan (5th degree) black belt rank
* Nikhiladitya Narina was voted by the Senseis and Soke Paul as one of the Superstars of the Test!!!
Each individual will be recognized for this accomplishment at the Cervizzi's Extravaganza Weekend (March 22nd -24th, 2024) which includes seminars, a banquet, and invitational tournament.
